Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
- Work independently on small projects and on larger project teams with chemical engineers, chemists, mechanical engineers/designers, machinists, electrical engineers, and managers to solve technical problems including experimental, operational, and design issues
- Guide laboratory and pilot scale activities based on technical experience, experimental results and process model simulations using Aspen Plus as appropriate
- Collection and processing of experimental data
- Prepare documentation and technical presentations of experimental results
- Preparation of catalysts
- General chemical process design
- Perform day to day operation including start-up and shut-down of Pilot Plants to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific research
- Assist with the improvement, troubleshooting and modifications of Pilot Plants as needed
- Develop and document Process flow diagrams and Process instrumentation diagrams
- Specify process equipment requirements and establish vendor contacts for purchasing equipment
- General chemical laboratory activities
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred, Completion of at least 3 semesters of Chemical Engineering coursework considered
- EXPERIENCE: Co-op or internship preferred
