Position Description
Purpose and Scope:
•Responsible for providing accurate cost estimates from customer specifications. Autocad renderings for some proposals will be needed.
•Responsible for providing clear communications to customers in support of quotations and program management.
•Responsible for generating production sheets, component part drawings, saw cut patterns, tooling requirements and CNC programs to the shop
•Responsible for providing necessary documentation to the production floor.
Responsibilities:
Quotations:
•Reviews customer information for completeness. Acquires any needed information from the customer.
•Determines material usage and acquires costs.
•Develops the proposed manufacturing process including labor and machine requirements and yields.
•Develops the cost estimate using software supplied.
•Develops the formal customer quotation and reviews with the president.
•Provides the formal quotation to the customer and follows up with answers to any questions and as to the status of the quote.
Customer Care:
•Communicates verbally with customers in a prompt, clear and professional manner at all times.
•Provides prompt, clear and professional written documents including quotations and written email or letters.
•Works closely with customers to solve problems.
•Works closely with customers to reach agreement on mutually achievable delivery requirements.
Production Documents:
•Generates component part drawings using Autocrat or Alpaca software where customer supplied drawings are not sufficient.
•Provides existing or develops new Production Sheets.
•Provides optimized cut lists for the CNC Saw using CutRite software.
•Provides CNC programs to the machining centers using WoodWOP, Micro Vellum or Alpaca software. Works with the CNC Technicians to debug programs.
•Insures the shop has or has ordered all necessary tooling.
Organizational Relationships:
•Reports to both the President and the Operations Manager.
Job Requirements:
Education and Training:
•Two year technical certificate in a related field, ie. engineering (preferred)
•Formal training of CAD/CAM software
Technical and Other Requirements:
•Good math skills including geometry and trigonometry
•Blueprint reading
•Computer Aided Design (CAD); Autocrat and preferred
•Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM); Woodwork, Micro Vellum and Alpaca preferred
•Trained to use hand measuring tools including calipers and micrometers
•Attention to details
•Good written and oral communication skills
•A demonstrated team player with problem solving skills
•Curiosity as a personality trait
Experience:
•Three to five years minimum in a similar environment
•Must be local to the south-east or south-central
